    Hello parents!
This week we learned about Christmas and how everyone celebrates it. Monday we had our field trip to Lutheran care center. The children love being around the grandma’s and grandma’s. Tuesday and Wednesday we made a bell ornament. It is very sweet! They did a great job! The preschoolers did not get to take it home because they will be using them for the program on Tuesday and Wednesday. Today ( Thursday) we made a reindeer project it is very sweet. We wrapped presents in the sensory table and finger painted with red and green. It sure is fun practicing Christmas songs. They love singing and they have beautiful voices too. Remember next week we are having our Christmas program Tuesday and Wednesday at 11:00 -11:30, we will be singing songs, making a project & having a Christmas snack.
Thank you, Miss April & Miss Stephanie

This week at preschool, we are learning about Christmas traditions around the world. Yesterday and today we are starting off with china. We made paper chains and counting down the days until Christmas, making letters with glue and sugar to “santa”. They really enjoyed doing that. We made paper lanterns too, in china they hang them on the tree for decoration and shut off all the lights. When people look inside their house they can see how well light it is and how beatuiful job the children did to make the paper lanterns. I hope you had a great weekend, and I cannot wait to tell you about wednesday and thursday’s country!
Thank you, Miss April & Miss Steph

With the Friday Friends class, we continued our discussion about eating healthy and keeping our bodies healthy.  We made healthy hearts by choosing healthy foods and ways to keep our bodies healthy and then colored them and glued them onto the big hearts.  We also did some exploring with the play foods and categorized them by healthy foods and ’sometime’ foods.  We also did some review with the letter “I” by finding I’s on our papers and making them with ink along with looking at different items that start with the letter “I” and playing the “What’s Missing?” game.  We also played around on an obstacle course which included a tunnel to crawl through, and mat to roll around on, hula-hoops to jump through and a balanced beam to walk across on, and because we were talking about the letter “I”, I also added a big blow-up igloo to crawl through…so much fun and lots of exercise taking place as well.  We had a great Friday!!

    Thank  you,

    Miss Peggy

This week in preschool we talked about nutrition…what kinds of foods are healthy and what we can do to keep our bodies healthy. We read a book about how food is many different colors and then we picked out some different foods…mostly fruits and vegetables… and colored them their correct color and then hung them up on their corresponding colored paper. For keeping our bodies healthy, we spent the week playing around on an obstacle course that kept us busy and moving…great exercise!!! Along with the nutrition, we also talked about the letter “I”, and found lots of different things that start with that letter…and then of course played the ‘What’s missing?’ game. With our introduction to the letter “I”, we also added an igloo to our obstacle course…a blow up one of course…SO MUCH FUN!!! In our sensory table we had icebergs and then veggies and fruit at the easel to paint with. What a fun and busy week!!

    Thank you all,
    Miss Peggy

This week in preschool we talked about Community Helpers…what it means to be a community helper and who is a community helper.  As part of our leaning about community helpers, we brought in different outfits that different community helpers would wear for the preschoolers to try on and play around in.  We also swapped the kitchen set for a tool bench…what fun.  Some stuffed animals were also brought in along with different doctor’s tools for them to play with.  Besides Community Helpers, we were also working on the color blue, the letter “G”, and the oval.  We started out the week by having blue ‘goop’ in the sensory table with blue items, but that became too goopy so we changed it out mid way through the week with blue water instead!  At the easl we had different shades of blue crayons for coloring ovals on blue paper.  For our gross motor we played a game of “Red Light, Green Light”…but because we played it in doors, instead of running back and forth, we decided to move around the room in different ways and when “Red Light” was called, we stopped and listened for our next movement and moved around when “Green Light” was called.  A little bit of a different twist, but still lots of moving going on and energy burned up!!  Next week we will continue with Community Helpers and the Fire Department will be visiting us!!  Have a fun and safe weekend!

    Thank you,
    Miss Peggy

For Friday Friends today, we switched it up again and had our class in the 3 year old classroom. In the classroom the preschoolers we able to dress up with different community helper outfits and pretend to play their role…lots of doctor playing; play on a tool bench, and play in blue water with blue items. With all of that, we continued our talk from the week about community helpers, looked at a book with lots of different community helpers in it, as well as other fun jobs. We also did a matching sheet; match the community helper to the correct tool that they use. We also read a book about a doctor and talked about some of the different things that a doctor does and why someone should go to the doctor. We then made our own doctor’s bag and put some items in it that would be found at a doctor’s office…even a sticker! We were also able to sneak in a quick few minutes to play a quick game of tag outside…what a beautiful day! Have a fun and safe weekend.

    Thank you,
    Miss Peggy

    Hello parents!
This week we learned about a lot of community helper jobs. What they are, how they help, and who can be them. The kids really enjoyed learning about the differnt jos and I even found out what some of you as parents do. (They are very proud of what you do.) They told us what they would like to do when they get older. It is fun to see what they know already about each job. Today was our field trip to pine grove manor with the Tuesday Thursday Class. We made a fun turkey project! He is pretty big!! Next monday we will be going to lutheran home care and be making a turkey as well. Please remember to come to confernces next starting next Monday or sign up for them as well yet!! :)

Have a great weekend! Miss April & Miss Steph

    Hello,
We wrapped this week up with pumpkins! We read many stories and they all seemed to really have a creative mine when we carved a big pumpkin today. I sent home a little prayer about carving a pumpkin. Take time a read through it. They colored pumpkins, we sang a song and a whole lot more in our day. Remider conferences are November 14-17th. The sign up sheet will hopefully be out on Monday/Tuesday of next week. Your child is doing a great job! Keep up the good work with them!! :)

Thank you, Miss April & Miss Stephanie
